A 2005 APSP San Diego Pool Awards winner, pool remodel under $30,000

The previous owner of this home was very proud of their last name- so proud that they incorporated it into the fountain and spa walls. With the tile and plaster removed, we were left with an empty canvas. The client and I decided to go with the earthy tones of the Tuscan c30 series tile from National Pool Tile. The water feature was redesigned with three spillways rather than the flooded feature it once was. This change created a dramatic focal point that attracts the eye when looking out from the house. We laid the tile in a diamond pattern in the large field area of the water feature and placed a border of straight tile going around to showcase them. The spa tile was replaced with the tumbled series of two by two's to complete the pool. All of the brick coping was regrouted, and the pool was finished in light grey plaster. Equipment upgrades included new lighting, a Jandy salt system and the Jandy Aqualink control system, giving my client ease of operation.

This pool was also featured in the Early Spring 2006 issue of Living in Style and included an interview with myself and my client.
