Working with my client, a landscape designer, we took this older pool and made it WOW!
This pool is an example of the dramatic changes that can be made while keeping the pool structure intact. My client had his plan outlined -- he wanted a slide and seperate waterfall. Working with him, and keeping the whole family in mind, we designed a pool that would keep his boys safe at home in the backyard.
We built the 20 foot long slide into the hillside. We integrated a rockspan that floods with water and flows down as the slider passes under it on his way into the pool. This area is also an excellent jumping spot. We also carried the boulders along the raised wall toward the spa.
My client designed the stairs to the right that lead effortlessly to the slide, as he knew the slide would be a popular place.
The rock waterfall grotto is a large feature with multiple drops and another jumping spot. We built a baja step with two sets of steps and a rock reef in the center. It has a spot for an umbrella to provide shade on those hot summer days. The top step in the spa was formed to look like a rock, in keeping with our look. The pool coping is quartzite, and the raised spa dam wall has 3 spillways. We resurfaced the pool in light grey plaster. A Jandy RS computer system, Jandy salt sytem, and colored light in the spa complete the project.
