This dated pool required a real facelift. The raised spa had a separation crack (cold joint separation), allowing water to flow on to the deck. The old saltillo tile deck was in very poor condition. The existing deck valves, used to operate the equipment, were also broken.
After removing the old plaster and tile, we reconstructed the spa and replaced the spillway. The deck valves were removed and the plumbing brought to the equipment area. After removing the saltillo tile, the cement was uneven. We installed drainage, floated a leveling compound over all 3,000 square feet and set the new Gladding McBean pavers. The pool and spa were tiled with handcrafted heath tile and plastered in white.
Equipment upgrades included new metal halide lighting fixtures from Fiberstar and a Jandy RS AquaLink system to fully automate the pool and spa.
